Tornado

The Tornado was one of our first catamaran classes we built sails for.

At that time it was still a classic pin-top sail made out of Dacron. The Tornado has been developed over the years, the mainsail got a square-top, the jib became a self-tacking jib and the Tornado was equipped with a spi.

When the carbon mast was introduced to the Tornado, we were the first sailmakers who got a prototype mast for the sail development to make first comparisons between the aluminum and the carbon rig.

Meanwhile we build almost exclusively sails for the Carbon Rig. But we also still build sails for the Alu Rig and for the "Oldimer-Fans" even a pin-top sail from current materials.

CB5

The CB5 mainsail is our radial classic, which was first developed for the carbon mast in 2004.

Currently in its 5th generation, the sail has been further developed over the years and still represents the benchmark in the Tornado.

CC5

The CC5 is based on the CB5. The two sails differ, however, in the way they are cut and in the cloth orientation.

We build the CC5 with a horizontal cut and adapted profiling, which makes the sail ideal for lighter crews.

R1.2

The R1.2 is radial cut and comes from the RUS1 jib. We offer the R1.2 in 2 different profile depths, in order to be able to adapt it exactly to the crew weight.

D -> full

FB2

The FB2 belongs among the Tornado Spi`s to the fuller models. This way we achieve a deeper sailing course and an improved VMG value.

The Spi comes for the common snuffer systems with 2 patches. Optionally 3 patches are possible as well.
